Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?
February 15, 2010
Paul Gauguin’s 1897 painting entitled;
Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?
It’s a bit like this blog. What it is. Who we are. It hasn’t taken shape yet. It’s the Think Tank for now. A prelude to what will be, of what will come of a two-week journey across America and Ireland captured on film.
He says Go-Gone, I say Go-Gan, lets call the whole thing off…..

My father in law & mother in law, Dick & Dorothy were giants in their time.
I know they are still here, guiding Colleen & ours through this journey.
I know Merrie is still too.
I talk to her too often for her not to be here now.
That was a famous book back in my youth: Be Here Now.
Any way Mom & Dad Koos left us their home on a river in Florida, 3 miles from the gulf to the sunset & 3 miles to the swamps to the sunrise ( right & left). The wild life we see from the tiny dock is amazing me.
One of my photos of a dolphin swimming in the backyard is posted elsewhere on this blog.
Two “Time Reverie” videos showing the river east & west are also posted. The west facing video of an Anhiga drying her/himself in the sun & air, so that she/he may do the “Anhinga Fly Away” (an as yet unpublished video) is a Time Reverie video cover of A.J.Croce’s outstanding tune: “Bury Me Standing”. The east facing video, certified by Six Sigma, is a time Reverie video cover of Rich Fagan’s classic : “Time Slips Through My Fingers” (“and money slips through my hands…”)
Anywho, to wind the circle full round, Colleen & I were going through Mom’s significant book collection 2 weeks ago. In an unexpected text that caught my thought pattern, was this book in which the Front-piece was Gauguin’s painting:
“Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?”
Mom told me then & there, that- that was the subject or purpose of our expedition, and so it is.
To give you some small idea of who Dorothy & Dick were, below is a Memorial video for Dad and a second one showing his name, high on the Marquee of Erie’s
Convention Center and the Mom & Dad’s introduction to me of the ImaginAIRium.
Yes Dorothy, their is a Kansas.
Thank you for your comment to that effect Richard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eInZ1SqJR7k

Beautiful words Hy. Great also to hear the background to the idea of Gaugains painting being relevant to our journey and production.

This is so beautiful Mr. Mayerson. They are questions I ask quite often and I really enjoyed your insight. Thank you.
