Inis Oirr / Inisheer : Smallest of the Arran Islands / Aran Islands: A Drive By Shooting
In the afternoon of our first day on the island, we were able to capture in breath-taking detail, 2 (two) drive bys. Very young men chattering & bicycling as they streamed by the watchful eye of RedKruzer. Caught on an iPhone.
English is the second language on the island. Gaelic (aka Irish, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaelic) is the native & spoken language. To this english speaker & reader, the number of ways Aran (Arran) Island is spelled and or pronounced was mystifying. Add to my dilemma, I learn that there are 2 (two) Celtic Aran Islands, one in Ireland (mine) & the other in Scotland (not visited there yet).

Irish: Oileáin Árann
Since the drive bys spoke English as they shot by, I suspect they were visitors to the island.
I would love to visit these islands!
Linda,
The art in the stone walls (or mazes – if you are a visitor) is so very eye & mind opening…
Thanks for the hello…
