Many Rivers to Cross – Requiem For Big Bro – Michael Cole – Jimmy Cliff
Poignant:
Michael Cole:
The first train passenger we met was Michael Cole.
Michael was the last interview we did that first day on the tracks, March 12, 2010.
Motivated by what Michael told us, we did this video.
Licensing Rights : I have posted Jimmy Cliff’s Many Rivers to Cross on You Tube, and was given the right to post it all over the world. That video has over 700,000 hits on You Tube. (PS Oct. 14 2010, now over 1,000,000 hits).
Our interview with Michael is now available elsewhere on this blog. That address is:
Jimmy Cliff:
Colleen and I saw Jimmy Cliff last night, June 9 2010 at The House Of Blues at the SHowboat in Atlantic City NJ..
It was possibly the best concert I have ever seen. The only one I have seen comparable was Paul Simon And Lady Smith’s Graceland.
I found Jimmy to be much more engaging than Mick Jagger who pranced around on stage . Jimmy danced on stage in steps only comparable to Michael Jackson. Jimmy was emotionally charged, and believed in the importance of what he shared with us .
Most memorable was Afghanistan, not another Viet Nam.
More later, hopefully.

Hy–By Jove, I think he’s getting it!
It’s one thing to tell your story. It’s another to tell someone else’s story. And it’s a joy when, much like reading Henry David Thoreau or listening to Eric Satie, when not only have you told someone else’s story, there is that “Ahah!” moment, and a third person walks away seeing the world a little bit differently, perhaps through the eyes of your storyteller.
Keep it up, Hy. Through your eyes, I see it coming along.
Stephen,
Thank you .
Good to hear from you.
Your story comment is on target.
Soon we will have a new little girl to tell stories to.
Congratulations.
Hy
